Welcome to Adventure Boats ! Whether you intend to go canoeing in Sri Lanka, white water rafting on the Petawawa river in Canada, or you decide to go 'shark fishing' off the coast of Killybegs in Co. Donegal - there is a load of adventure and enjoyment to be had in a boat.
There are so many variations of boating holiday/adventure to be found - the whole world over. Some of us are just a little too old to be 'whitewater rafting' or 'canoeing' in Sri Lanka, but there are just as many adventures to be had if we look a little closer to home, or indeed dig a little deeper at what some of our non-traditional tourist destinations have to offer. There are numerous advertisements for holidays/adventures scattered throughout this website, so there is sure to be something to suit everyone in terms of type, budget and general experience. We have all 'thought' about the type of break we would like, and have probably discussed it numerous times with family/friends - but a significant percentage of us never actually get on with doing something about it - and follow our dreams. We will try to generate some ideas for you on this site, but the choice is ultimately your own. Below are just some examples of excellent trips: The Gambia River experience We could heartily recommend a 15-day trip up the Gambia river, as the wildlife you will come across is a wonder to behold. The Gambia river national park has an abundance of hippos, baboons, monkeys and chimps - as well as the occasional Nile crocodile making an appearance.
On your way up-river to the park you can also stop off at the Kau-ur Wetlands to see a startling variety of bird wildlife, or the Bird Safari camp where you can actually go fishing for an African Tiger fish. whatever your preference, you will find it along the 200-mile trip inland from Banjul. Shark-fishing in Killybegs What about not travelling too far from the UK after all, and heading across to the West Coast of Ireland, to County Donegal? This will be the most relaxing place you have ever visited, we can guarantee that. There is a very marked difference in the 'pace' of life in Co Donegal and it appeals to all ages.
When you go to Co Donegal, and get over your initial amazement at the wild beauty of the surrounding hills and lakes, take a run to the sleepy fishing village of Killybegs. Killybegs is a working fishing port, but there is some fun to be had there by spending the day out on a charter boat, either fishing for the various forms of Flat fish and Cod/Ling available - or going a little further off-shore to indulge yourself in some 'shark fishing'. Water adventures in Oban, Scotland Ever fancied diving? Why not try a dive with an experienced instructor, who will also provide all the equipment you will need. This is an excellent opportunity to get up close and explore the magnificent marine world.
If this is not 'your cup of tea', then why not book yourself onto a scenic boat trip and relax while you enjoy a scenery of castles, forts, unspoilt beaches, rugged landscapes and various forms of wildlife. We would advise, unless you are extremely hardy, that you maybe think of this as a Summer trip! | Powerboating Corporate and private days - Splash events on water! www.splash.co.uk | |
